Chrysler cleaning, Part 1.

Some of you may recall these horrific images:

(That is a valve stem poking through a rocker, evidently a common thing for a Chrysler V6.)
(That's just a scoop of the sludge inside the engine . . . EW!)

I started cleaning up the hardware and put together a new set of rockers and shafts:

Look at this crappy design! The rocker arms just rub on each other . . .
and stand a good chance of hitting the rocker shaft bolt assembly.
The only thing I can see that keeps them aligned are the pushrods. WTF, Chrysler. W . . . T . . . F . . .

I had also spent some time trying to clean up one of the valve covers . . . I have to get some better cleaning agents. What a gross, sticky disgusting mess. It took me 2 hours to carefully clean up all the hardware for one bank of the engine. I probably could have done it faster, but still . . . taking that long to clean up some bolts and bits? Ew. This is why regular oil changes are important, even if the engine sucks (like this one does)

A car I recently tuned

Every once in a while, I'll be able to feature some of the cars I work on! I like doing it.

The first car up is Anthony's civic. He's the guy who started The Honda Game group on FaceBook. He wanted to put together a team build utilizing resources found in THG members and no machine work needed. The car went from shell to running down the track in 18 days. I tuned the car over 4 consecutive late, annoying nights battling ignorance (my own), electrical issues, weather and time to get it done. Enough waxing eloquent about stuff, here's the car:

The guy doing the custom hood work did a really good job. That's certainly something you won't ever see me doing. LOL!

Blog administrative notes.

Hi, all! I'd like to inform you readers of a few changes I am making to hopefully make it easier for you to follow the blog, if you so choose. I've recently added this profile to Google+, and then added the ability to follow the blog with G+ (I think) on the sidebar. I've also added RSS feeds on the sidebar, too.

I'll be setting up a G+ "page" soon, as well as possibly creating a profile on FB for the blog. Why? Because people complain (rightly so) that the email system is not working for them. I highly dislike FB and G+ (along with most social media) but if it makes it easier for people to keep tabs on the blog, why not? Even with my off month on July due to a confluence of utter poo in my life, I still managed a readership number that suggests there are enough people who regularly read through my stuff or stumble on it via web searches that I'd like to make it easier for people to follow along in the adventure.

I will also be posting smaller updates, with each subject getting it's own update. This will enable easier searching and less scrolling through gigantor updates. This will also be more appropriate since I hope to delve into a wider variety of things than just metal fabrication, as I may start doing tool reviews or how-tos in the future. I hope this will make things easier for people. If you have any advice or feedback either way, please comment below!

And, THANKS FOR READING this drivel. It's nice to see that it is appreciated.
